Circumnavigate the Earth

Goals: Shine the light of Awareness on the best and worst examples of inclusive communities and practices following the 2008 United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Connect the Disability Community Across Cultures through Disabled Ambassadors who sail with the crew from their country to another to implement their winning proposed Project of Inclusive Impact.

1st Mixed Ability Crew to Sail Around the World.

1st Quadriplegic Captain in a Power Wheelchair to Circumnavigate.

We are taking our mission to the next level. Some may call us crazy, but that's nothing we haven't heard before!

Having successfully overcome many other seemingly impossibilities, we can and are very confident that circumnavigation is very feasible, and can even be made relatively safe and enjoyable. Rather, the challenges of coming ashore and entering a completely inaccessible building to clear customs in many destinations may be the greatest challenge!

After years of analysis, discussions with a few of the world's most respected catamaran designers, and successfully completing 50% or 3000 miles of America's Great Loop , our lead designer, Mark Felling, himself disabled, has concluded that with proper support and funding, and modern catamaran and trimaran boat building techniques, a circumnavigation is feasible!

This project will involve stops at many countries, inviting disabled persons aboard as guest crew, maybe from one destination to another to act as ambassadors throughout the world.

We are looking for one to three major sponsors with significant media creation and distribution resources.

We seek to collaborate with the UN and member nations on initiatives improve Community Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities. Unfortunately this will need to include awareness of blatant disregard for both human rights and equal civil rights.

This project will sail for as little $500k either when we find and modify a proper lightly used vessel, or a truly inclusive craft that is safer, easier to handle, more ecologically and financially sustainable will be built through creative partnerships for $1.6 million, and worldwide media attention with a larger crew including on board videographers for $2.3 million.

This project is in the planning and funding stages, timing highly dependent on funding. Contact us to Get Involved!

"Yes, I dream big. However the first steps on every great journey occur long before anyone, even those on it, knew that such a journey would occur. In that sense, this journey began many years ago, and one might even say 26 years ago. If I am not the one to complete the journey or even all its goals, someone else following in my wheel trends will. The impossible becomes possible the moment someone believes it is.
